HOSTS

RANDY COOK

During Randy’s 40-year radio career he cohosted one of the most highly rated radio shows in Atlanta, eventually landing him in the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame. He found that the people he enjoyed talking with the most were in the business world — people dealing with business affairs, politics, and economy news.

This interest inspired Randy to acquire an Investment Advisor Representative and Georgia Insurance License, and — after 40 years on the radio and retirement on the horizon — it seemed only natural for him to do a radio show about preparing for retirement.

Randy realized years ago that everyone needs help with their money, but a lot of people don’t know where to start. As a guy who prides himself on preparation and doing his “homework,” Randy is prepared and ready to be the guy who knows a guy. It’s his hope that this show will be a place where listeners can develop confidence about their money and their future.

Randy and his wife, Julie, have three children, all out of the house, so they enjoy spending time spoiling their two terriers, Oliver and Chloe. Though they still cost them money, the dogs have never gone to a prom or asked for the car keys — yet.

JENNIFER PERRY

Jennifer spent most of her 20 years in radio working for major News/Talk stations in Nashville and Atlanta. She excelled as a radio director, keeping listeners informed about the day’s events. Sounds fun, but what the industry went through in 2008 — and having to report the continuing stories about people losing their homes, their retirement savings, their entire livelihood — was not fun.

In fact, it made Jennifer angry, and she realized how the financial industry has trained people to take too much risk, to buy too much house, to lease their cars — yet none of this has made anyone any happier!

She set out to change that in some small way by obtaining her Investment Advisor Representative and Georgia Insurance License to help inform people of their options, while still pursuing her first love: radio! What Jennifer hopes to show listeners is that whether you’re a “hundred-thousand-aire” or a multimillionaire, you can still achieve a happy retirement, with small moves to impact your money. It’s her hope that this show will help people make smarter small decisions every day that will lead to larger success.

When Jennifer is not talking about money, she’s reading books, pounding the pavement (despite the continuing battle with her knees), pounding the piano keys (a major stress reliever), or paying way too much money to make her cat, Gracie, comfortable in her retirement.
